Game of Thrones: Season 1 Episode 9 Preview

Game of Thrones on HBO has been my weekly obsession even worse addiction this season. A show based on George R. R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series. It's been a season full of bloodshed, backstabbing, lust, and did I mention bloodshed? Here are some of the parts I thought badass in itself.

• A horse gets beheaded
• A woman gets off sexually at the reciting of dragons' names
• A guy gets his tongue ripped out out of his throat
• A wolf rips a mans throat
• A pimp teaches two whores how to do their job
• An imp (small person) steals every scene he's in

That's just a couple of things I could think of at the top of my head. The show is smart, well written, and the child actors are far and beyond some of the best I've seen in a while. If Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister the Imp doesn't win an Emmy then they should just give all the Emmys to reality TV shows like Extreme Couponing and Mob Wives.

Britney Spears Does Jackass Stunt

The head honcho of the Jackass Crew, Johnny Knoxville, recently did an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. Johnny Knoxville revealed that Britney Spears did a stunt with the crazies over at Jackass in their latest film Jackass 3D. According to Knoxville, they had to cut the scene due to time shortage, but Britney was totally down with the stunt.

This confirms my theory that Britney Spears is out of her mind because you gotta be batshit crazy to willingly cover yourself in crap and piss.

Shameless: Meet The Gallaghers

Shameless is raunchy, gritty, heart breaking, hilarious, charming show. Shameless chronicles the day-to-day struggles of the Gallaghers, a family made up of a deadbeat alcoholic single father (Frank Gallagher), a mother who walked out on her family a year ago (Monica), and 6 kids who barely manage to scrounge enough to make it through the week.

Here is a little background of the Gallagher family without giving too much up about the plot.

Great Moments from The West Wing (BEST SHOW EVER)

I transcribed this from a nearby payphone after he hit me up on my pager. I still think the Wire is the best political TV series, but Frustra disagrees.

I understand that this article has been done over and over again, that the show is incredibly polarizing, and that most people find it plain boring. I’m going to say suck it to all of that, and raise my glass to what is easily the greatest show EVER. Period.

Aaron Sorkin and later John Wells wrote what is among the most intelligent, well-crafted plots ever to grace a TV. If the sheer volume of events and parallels don’t leave you a little breathless, the punishingly unforgiving language will. About the third time you watch an episode, when the lingo is a little easier to follow, the gravity of it sinks in—every facet of this show is deep. Like Marianas Trench deep. If you’ve never experienced this show, get out from under that [right] rock, grab a dictionary, warm up google, and get a hold of this show. By any means necessary.

So, as a guest piece to SOAR, we’re going to give you some of the moments that should be entered as evidence in the case of it’s superiority over tv mundane stupidity (a la the cape).

Wonder Woman: First Look

So it seems NBC is trying their best to get a show involving superheroes. I'm guessing here, but maybe they're trying to recapture the following Heroes had before the writer's strike a while back. It's unofficial, but it looks like "The Cape" might get cancelled.

The World's Greatest Extra: Jesse Heiman

You see that face? Do you recognize that guy? You probably do, but you can't quite remember where exactly it was you saw him. His name is Jesse Heiman and he's been an extra for the past 10 years. He's been on movies like Old School, American Pie 2, and Spiderman. As well as TV series like Arrested Development, Glee, and NCIS.

Silence of the Bees

 I saw this documentary last night on PBS. It's called "Silence of the Bees". The film explores the importance of bees to our ecosystem, as well as the reason as to why the bees are slowly becoming extinct.

 I stated in a previous post that I just got my Xbox 360 recently, and first game I purchased with it was Red Dead Redemption. I'm a big fan of the GTA series, so it only made a sense. Plus, there's nothing like being a badass cowboy in the Wild West.

Uncle Leo Dies At The Age of 88

Len Lesser the actor who played Uncle Leo on the classic show Seinfeld died recently at the age of 88.

Uncle Leo was portrayed as that overly friendly uncle that none of the kids wanted to hang out with. He was always a good guy, but you could only take his presence in small infrequent doses. Yeah that was Uncle Leo for you.

The one thing Uncle Leo taught me when I was watching this as a kid was that you should always look in the trash, you never know what you're gonna get.

So in honor of Uncle Leo, I'll be looking in your trash cans. Don't mind me.

5 Cameos Big Bang Theory Should Get

I know I haven't featured any videos from Big Bang Theory, but I figured all you geeks would've known about this show already. If not, then I'll give you a little background info about the show. Here's a description according to wikipedia:

IT CROWD: D&D COUNSELING

The moment I watched the Community D&D episode, IT Crowd immediately came to mind.

In this episode, Roy is going through an ugly breakup. He has problems moving on. Moss then pretends to be an elvish version of Roy's ex-girlfriend. It gets awkward at first, but eventually Roy gives in. Shhhh...don't fight it. sorry. *cough*

IT Crowd is one of my favorite shows. I highly recommend this show to those who are always up for a good laugh

NOW PLAYING: YOUNG JUSTICE

I'm not much of a comic book nerd, but when I do read comics it's usually DC. So when I heard Cartoon Network was releasing a new cartoon based on the DC Universe, I was more excited than a 12 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert. Details of the cartoon below:

Young Justice focuses on the lives of a group of teenaged superhero sidekicks and protégés attempting to establish themselves as proven superheroes and as teenagers dealing with adolescent issues grounded in the context of their personal lives.

It's similar to the Teen Titans series that came out a while back, but this is more serious and the drawing style is more American. Teen Titans' style was more based on anime, even the theme song was sung by a Japanese girl band.

My favorite characters in this series so far are Aqualad and Kid Flash. I like Aqualad because he's a badass, and he makes me think I should really give Aquaman a second chance. Kid Flash is just funny, and the chemistry between him and Robin is always fun.

The Origins of GreenMan

If you ever watched "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", then chances are you heard of Green Man. According to the show, it's this thing Charlie used to do back in high school during sporting events. He would get drunk, and dress up in a green lycra suit and start dancing. He was the unofficial school mascot nobody wanted.

According to show creator Rob McElhenney, Green Man is actually based on a real person. Rob had a high school buddy, who was on his first year of residency to becoming a doctor. They attended a Philadelphia Eagle's game, and after the game, his friend started walking around the parking lot in a green lycra suit taking pictures. Rob would eventually use it in his show. Birds Of War

One of my favorite TV shows today, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. If you haven't watched it yet, I suggest you get going cuz this show is funny.

In this clip, the gang (Mac, Dennis, and Charlie) form a wrestling team called "The Birds of Prey". They come up with a what seemed at the time a clever entrance theme song, but ends up getting counted out.
